Chesterfield, Virginia - May 1, 2024 - The Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center (CFBOC) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its latest initiative, the Client Resource Room, situated within its headquarters in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Designed to cater to the unique needs of families and individuals grappling with challenges such as abuse, neglect, addiction, homelessness, and other circumstances contributing to food insecurity, the Client Resource Room offers a haven of support and assistance. Spearheaded by CFBOC members, this dedicated space provides specialized advocacy, and access to essential resources, emergency groceries, baby needs, and hygiene products.

"At CFBOC, we recognize the profound impact of food insecurity on our community members, and the Client Resource Room stands as a testament to our commitment to serve with dignity and compassion," remarked Kim Hill, Executive Director of CFBOC. "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Junior Federated Women’s Club of Chester for their unwavering dedication and collaboration in bringing this vision to fruition."

In addition to meeting the immediate needs of individuals facing food insecurity, the Client Resource Room will also serve as a sanctuary for approximately 200 individuals monthly, offering a safe space where they can seek assistance without fear or judgment. CFBOC emphasizes the importance of supporting community members with empathy and respect, recognizing the courage it takes to seek help.

As CFBOC continues its mission to combat hunger and inequity, the organization invites the entire community to join in its efforts. Whether through volunteerism, financial contributions, or spreading awareness, individuals can play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of those in need.
