Collaborating for a Cause: Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center and SINA Hospitality Team Up to Combat Hunger

Chesterfield, Virginia - Sept 26, 2024  The Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center (CFBOC) has partnered with Richmond-based hotel development group SINA Hospitality to launch a campaign to expand its facilities and services in Chesterfield County.

As Chesterfield County continues to grow, so does the need for food assistance across an increasing number of families and individuals who live within the county. At the same time, the Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center has increased services to not only provide food assistance but also prevent the cause of food insecurities in the first place. This has led the Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center to embark on a campaign to expand and improve its facilities under the management and direction of SINA Hospitality. In 2023 alone, CFBOC provided a record amount of food to those in need across Chesterfield County:

  • Over 2.7 million pounds of food served to the community

  • Over 54,000 household visits to the CFBOC Distribution Locations impacting over 242,000 individuals (adults, children, and seniors)

  • Over 2,600 households assisted through our client advocate and outreach programs

  • Over 52,000 volunteer hours provided by a dedicated community

“It is truly remarkable how much food assistance CFBOC provides each day in Chesterfield County," remarked SINA Hospitality CEO, Ravi Patel. “SINA Hospitality is committed to helping our local community, and I am honored to be able to help build a better future with Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center. It is imperative that the new facility is constructed quickly; the long-term impact of our efforts will positively reshape how hunger is addressed in Chesterfield County. I look forward to showing off the new facility alongside Kim Hill and her team when it’s completed.”

"CFBOC is an independently funded nonprofit and the only way we can meet the need for food assistance as the County grows is through strategic corporate partnerships like this,” said Kim Hill, Executive Director of CFBOC. "The size and scope of this project are remarkable and we would not be able to proceed without the help of Ravi Patel and SINA Hospitality by our side."

As CFBOC expands its efforts to combat hunger and its root causes, the organization invites individuals and businesses within Chesterfield County, and the greater Richmond Region, to join in support of its mission and expansion efforts. Whether through volunteerism, financial contributions, corporate partnerships, or spreading awareness, everyone can play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of those in need in Chesterfield County.
